{"id":3278,"date":"2024-06-25T12:52:32","date_gmt":"2024-06-25T12:52:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/globalcommunities.org\/2024\/06\/25\/intrahealth-welcomes-kate-stratten-as-ceo\/"},"modified":"2025-09-05T10:14:15","modified_gmt":"2025-09-05T10:14:15","slug":"intrahealth-welcomes-kate-stratten-as-ceo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/globalcommunities.org\/press-releases\/intrahealth-welcomes-kate-stratten-as-ceo\/","title":{"rendered":"IntraHealth Welcomes Kate Stratten as CEO"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em><strong>\u201cI\u2019m honored to lead this incredible global team, particularly during this very exciting time in our organizational history,\u201d Stratten says.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>June 25, 2024 | Chapel Hill, NC, and Silver Spring, MD &#8211;<\/strong> Beginning July 2, 2024, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.intrahealth.org\/people\/kate-stratten\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Kate Stratten<\/a> will become CEO of IntraHealth International, a Global Communities subsidiary, as IntraHealth\u2019s outgoing CEO, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.intrahealth.org\/people\/maqsoda-maqsodi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Maqsoda Maqsodi<\/a>, departs to take on a new opportunity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI am so proud to have led this organization over the past 16 months,\u201d Maqsodi says. \u201cIn that time, we have achieved tremendous milestones together, including developing and operationalizing our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.intrahealth.org\/resources\/intrahealth-2030\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">IntraHealth 2030<\/a> roadmap toward locally led development and entering into an exciting new <a href=\"https:\/\/globalcommunities.org\/press-releases\/global-communities-welcomes-intrahealth-international-as-a-new-subsidiary-expanding-health-services-worldwide\/\">combination with Global Communities<\/a> that will enable us to multiply our collective impact and better meet the changing needs of the countries we serve.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Previously Stratten served as vice president for programs at IntraHealth, overseeing the organization\u2019s global portfolio of projects. She has 20 years of experience leading and implementing multimillion-dollar international public health projects. Her areas of technical expertise include HIV\/AIDS, family planning, fistula prevention and care, gender-based violence, maternal and child health, and health systems strengthening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stratten has managed the start-up of large initiatives such as the AIDS Resource Center in Ethiopia, the national AIDS Hotline in South Africa, and the introduction of community-based prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV services in low-prevalence areas. Prior to joining IntraHealth in 2008, Stratten worked for Johns Hopkins Center for Communications Programs and as a health communications consultant in Johannesburg, South Africa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m honored that the board has entrusted me to lead this incredible global team, particularly during this very exciting time in our organizational history,\u201d Stratten says. \u201cTogether with Global Communities, we are poised to expand our impact and make high-quality health services available to more communities around the world, both during emergencies and day-to-day.
