Residents were confronted with a tragedy of monumental scale and the daunting task of building back. Among the hundreds of projects implemented in response to the disaster was the KATYE Project. Named for the Haitian Creole word for \u201cneighborhood,\u201d the KATYE Project was implemented by Project Concern International (PCI), CHF International (now Global Communities) and USAID\u2019s Office of U.S. Foreign Disaster Assistance (OFDA) to support a community-led, sustainable approach to recovery.
